Buccal Fat Removal
(Cheek reduction)
Also known as Buccal Fat Bags, it is a very defined anatomical structure that has a great relevance in the contour of the cheeks and therefore in the middle and lower region of the face.
Proper removal on rounded or oval faces produces striking changes in facial symmetry, reducing the fullness of the cheeks and brightening the malar eminences.
Cheek augmentation
(Fat grafting / Cheek implants)
The Cheek augmentation can be done using solid silicone implants, the placement does not leave visible scars as they are placed inside the buccal area.
Likewise, it can be obtained by lipo injection, this means to infiltrate fat extracted from the patient by liposuction and treated in order to separate the adipocytes and then do the lipo injection in the cheeks.

Cardiological Evaluation
For the safety of our patients, it is very important to be sure that before having surgery they are in optimal health condition, that is why a cardio-logical evaluation is essential.
Preferably, it is requested that this assessment is perform in our city.
We have a list of specialist partners who support us with the assessments for our patients.

COVID Protocol
The epidemiological situation that we are currently experiencing made us adapt to our new reality, that is why we adapted for you a security protocol for COVID.
This protocol is to maximize the certainty that our patients are in the best health condition for your surgery.
The tests performed are:
- PCR, for its acronym in English for 'Polymerase Chain Reaction', is a diagnostic test that allows detecting a fragment of the genetic material of a pathogen, it is being used to determine whether or not a person is infected with COVID. It must be done no more than 5 days before surgery.
- Antibody test, unlike PCR, these tests do not identify the RNA of the virus, but rather detect antibodies produced against the virus using a blood sample, which is another way of knowing if the patients have an infected status.

Pre surgical Evaluation
Before the surgery, the pre-surgical evaluation with Dr. Lázaro Cárde-nas Camarena is very important, in this con-sultation the last doubts are solved and details of the surgery are refined, the consents paperwork is delivered, pre-surgical indications, post-care surgical procedures, prescrip-tion of medications and photographs control.
DURING SURGERY
Sedation, the goals that are pursued when using sedation are: to reduce the anxiety of the patient, to reduce the pain produced by the injection of the local anesthetic, to increase the tolerance of the patient in long-term procedures.
Local anesthesia, is used to have loss or temporary absence of sensitivity in a limited area of the body.
The surgical time for Buccal fat pads or Cheek Augmentation is approximately 2 hours, it all depends on the patient’s case.
Important; The estimated time provided in this information is only about the surgical procedure, the preparation and recovery time must be considered.
